Real Wedding – Jen & Brendan at Hacienda Pinilla Beach Resort
I just adore Jen and Brendan! Smart, funny and so crazily in love. And a lot of other folks adore then as well, since close to 100 people made the trek down to Hacienda Pinilla for the love fest. Nothing 'sarong' with these ladies (sorry, couldn't resist).Jen's dress was all lace, which matched perfectly with the vintage yet modern vibe she wanted for the wedding. Jen is absolutely glowing! A driftwood canopy overlooking the sea was the romantic setting. January is marked by the blowing Papagayo winds that whip Guanacaste, especially the area of Las Palapas at Hacienda Pinilla. With this in mind, our florist create floral bouquets that wouldn't be blown away. Our fun programs did doubleduty as fans.White lanterns filled with flowers were the aisle markers, adding a brilliant pop of colour against the grass. Local musicians provided the perfect soundtrack for the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Dining under the stars at sandwashed wooden tables, adorned with Italian lace runners, lanterns and blue Mason jars filled with bright flowers. One very happy couple. Due to the wind, we used electric candles and grouped the vases together so they wouldn't blow over.Handpainted signs for the seats of honour. Wooden boxes filled with flowers not only added a vintage/rustic touch but they were wind proof.Seating charts were two large chalkboards. Festival lighting (naked light bulbs) gave a romantic glow while LED lights added some dramatic atmosphere. The bride's sisters embarrassed Jen by reading the email she'd sent to her sister just before her first date with Brendan. An epic win by the sisters and kudos to Jen for being such a good sport.A cigar roller hard at work, providing some fine post-dinner smokes. Las Palapas is such a picturesque site for a celebration and everyone at the wedding had an amazing time. I've never heard Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody played at a wedding before and judging by the enthusiastic singing and dancing to it on the dance floor, it should become a wedding standard. Jen and Brendan, you truly set the bar high for wedding parties!Felicidades and a massive gracias for Katherine Stinnett for the wonderful photos!
